Christmas Week

Time flies extremely fast, and to think we gotta bade 2011 farewell in 2 weeks time. This year had gone pretty fine, or at least I thought it was fine. I'm so glad that I was able to achieve something new - my internship experience with Cleo and overseas exchange in Beijing. I've just completed my first semester of my final year and the thought of graduation makes me feel relieved yet worried. Relieved because I'm finally done with the books, worried because i've no idea what's next after graduation. Job finding would probably be one of the most tedious aspects in our younger years like now. I believe I've already mentioned that teaching is my top career choice and I am working for it so we'll see how it goes. School is starting in 2 weeks time and although I must say that I'm not looking forward to it, I'm definitely not dreading it as well.

On a happier note, this is christmas week. I've been looking forward to this festival since... last christmas? heh! Could still remember spending last year's christmas with the boy in Hong Kong. We could have gone somewhere this time but we're saving up for a big trip next year so... just gonna bear with it till the time comes. Muahahaha! Anyway, Merry Christmas you all :)

First of all, I'm so sorry for the hiatus! I gotta admit I was kinda lazy to blog initially, but just when I feel like doing up an entry I was bombarded with endless assignment deadlines to meet. But anyway, sorry! =x

After months of hard work (er...not really) and determination (yea, kind of), I'm finally done with this semester. And my conclusion so far is PR is definitely not one of the top career choices I'm opting for when I graduate. Yup, especially when you have someone like my lecturer who keeps breathing down your neck for every nitty gritty details, and chasing after your group when all you need is just some peace to develop your inspiration. What a bugger :( But other than that, I'm so glad that its done and dusted. Not gonna bother about the grades for now, that will come eventually.

So, with the assignments and exams over, its time to divert my attention to McVogue. Will be launching our christmas collection sometime this week and we'll also be holding a flea booth at Scape this Saturday with the boy and his mum :) So excited! I'll probably be bringing over both old and new designs just to introduce McVogue to the customers with the hope of bringing my shop to a new level. I was pretty stressed out about this because in business you either make or you break, and obviously no one wants to go for the latter. So I'm just gonna monitor the situation before we advance any further :) Nevertheless, I'm thankful for the boy, mummy, and tata for helping me out!

Apologies for not posting any pictures in this entry (I couldn't take any pictures when I don't even have the time to hit the town), but will try to do up a post for our upcoming collection soon so stay tuned! And for those who loved my Kimono Flare Dress, I'm thinking of manufacturing a new colour for this. Will update soon if possible, meanwhile have a great week ;))

Hello! I've been procrastinating a lot recently so pardon me if this entry came in a little too late. The entire week had been pretty good for me, especially after having completed my Media Law presentation. The next major assignment is some PR project that I had to do and I'll be meeting a client later to discuss about our communications audit.

This year's birthday celebration is not any different from the previous year, sweet and simple :) I'll start from my first celebration at home with my family. Poor bro forced himself awake just so he could help take some nice pictures. haha!

Went over to THE BUFFET at M Hotel for steamboat

This is like the best steamboat ever. I can never get enough of steamboats so if you've any good recommendations do share with me! :)

Dishes are neatly placed at the buffet table for us to help ourselves.

With a variety of sauces for you to choose from. I think I had too much chilli though, felt slightly uncomfortable the next day. haha!

Their desserts were quite average though, but what more can we ask when the buffet spread is enough to fill us up :)

And thanks baby for HERSHEY! hehe, my new bolster/pillow/plush!

Hi all, the weekend has been a very busy one for me because of the preparations for my cousin's big day last night. Something to share with you all, I just did a fun studio photoshoot with the babes about a week ago and I was glad we made time for it. I couldn't upload all the photos here because the file sizes are huge so I'll just upload whichever that is successfully being uploaded.

Beijing Diary Part III

Okay, so I've stopped at Qianmen at my previous entry. I like the architecture of this place. It contained the chinese culture as seen through the design of the buildings and the environment is generally much cleaner than the places that we've been to during this entire trip.

We also tried the 老北京炸酱面 (Lao Beijing Zha Jiang Mian) which was supposed to be one of the must-try in Beijing. The noodles are good :)

Within the compound of Qianmen, there is a whole stretch of street that contains the food and culture of a typical Taiwan night market. Boyfriend and I were so tempted to try the food but we were full from dinner.

Beijing Diary Part II

Okay here's a new set of pictures from my trip.

First up, China's best peking duck from 全聚德

If you're ever going to try that place, be prepared to wait for at least half an hour or so, depending on the crowd, some might even have to wait for an hour plus.

I've waited for half an hour and along the way, boyfriend and I made some discoveries about the chinese culture but I shall skip that part :) Anyway, we ordered half a duck. I think it tastes pretty good but I'm quite used to Singapore's version of peking duck. Oh, and don't expect any good service from them. ;)

USS and Birthday

Ever since I found out that there will be a Universal Studios in Singapore, like many of you out there, I pretty much want to see for myself how a small country could fit in a large sized theme park. But even after the theme park was done, I always procrastinate, partly because of the hefty sum that I've got to fork out for the tickets, partly because of my skepticism towards the safety of the thrill rides, and partly because of the location. I know there's the monorail but, I often require a few days before hand to prep myself for an adventurous trip like this, such that you could really look forward to it when the day comes.

Having said that, I shall just let the pictures do the talking... again!

Its 8:30am and I woke up earlier just to finish up one of my essays before going down to Universal Studios with boyfriend. The whole week has been such a mad rush for me, really. But I think it works on both ways for me, in allowing me to draft out an essay under the pressure of the deadlines, yet not being able to generate a good one due to the rush. But I guess its not that bad, cause sometimes I realized that my brain could be slightly more creative whenever I pressurize myself to finish up my work. SOMETIMES. So anyway, I gotta grab a quick brekkie before I start work. Shall update more when I'm back from USS and not to forget my preparations for my upcoming trip. hehehe...

Closing another Chapter

Okay I know I've been missing for a week or so but school's been acting crazy lately and this is the stage where I either do or die, you know what I mean. There's so many deadlines towards the end of the school term and I had to pen down the list of stuff that I go to finish and boy I feel great whenever I strike them off the list. Recently I had some issue with my work in school and it could be really depressing when you realize that you didn't score as well as you intended to. Major Sigh!

Anyway my school's semester is about to end in 2-3 weeks time and while rushing to meet deadlines is my priority, I have to start making preparations for my upcoming holiday trip with boyfriend to Beijing. Before you people start to give me the eyebrow raising expression, let me verify that we're there for a 2 weeks summer exchange. So its like an educational trip with a tinge of leisure involved although I highly think that the latter would weigh much more when the time comes. I'm so glad that I managed to get cheap air tickets and a hotel room without compromising the comfort. I did a research on the hotel and read the reviews posted by travellers and it seems like this is pretty much an ideal place for tourists and students to stay because its quite close to school and somehow everyone seems to agree unanimously that the bed is one of the best things about that hotel. Oh well, we shall see for ourselves yea.

The end of this semester also marks the end of another year in school, that leaves me with 1 crucial year. I must admit that my grades are average cause I've seen people doing much better than me. But then again, I kept telling myself that there's always another semester to pull me up. As you progress in school, you tend to think a lot about your future stuff like career and what you really wish to do in life. I often think that the best thing you can do for yourself is to think of what you want to do, and focus hard on it. But I know its hardly possible. I used to envision myself in corporate wear, walking down the CBD area with my heels and handbag, and doing whatever it takes to climb the corporate ladder. But I don't know if that is the kind of job for me. I somehow think that teaching is quite suitable, have been holding on to that thought since A levels. Not that I think teaching is not as sought after as those corporate jobs but somehow teaching is probably only suitable to certain people. I remembered a friend once told me that she won't want to do teaching after being stuck in school for 16 years. You could always analyze this from different perspectives and ultimately, its up to you to decide whether it suits you. I think it has something to do with my language subjects, that inspired me to hone those writing skills and to use it as a teaching profession. I'm still looking forward to it though, praying hard that all my effort in uni is worth it.

Okay this is a really lengthy post. No more rants, I need to get back to work, work, work. Keep the engine running friends!

Here's a food-ilicious entry to ward off the Monday Blues! Okay la, actually I'm the one who's having the blues now cause the thought of rushing my report and articles is such a you-know-what-i-mean pain in the neck. I've been trying to gain access to places that serve all day breakfast. You know... at times you really need to kickstart your day with a good meal, and with good company too ;)

So I first had my brunch date with Geraldine (like what else can we do besides shopping and eating huh) at THE PLAIN cafe. It serves breakfast in a melbourne-style concept and home-like furnitures, like those white and brown wooden furnitures you see at Ikea.

Next up, I can't wait to introduce this to you all: PRIVE at Keppel Bay! Went there over the weekend with boyfriend. But it will be kinda inaccessible if you don't drive cause its located right inside the Yatch club. Dine, let's head there next time :)

Boyfriend ordered the Eggs Royale while I got myself the Eggs Benedict. I got so confused by the two that I lost a bet to boyfriend. Long story, but yea...its kinda funny!

Taking a breather from all the negativity that I've received from my assignment.

This is going to be a depressing post. Even though I would love to blog about happier stuff, I just don't feel like it especially after reading my terrible terrible film review assignment.

And it always has to be this particular module that I suck in. Yea, I think I'm one of the worst performers for this module. I don't really see the point of submitting my work when I have markers scribbling question marks all over my article. I don't blame them but are my words that difficult to comprehend? It can be really depressing when I see my articles not making it to the acceptable range despite doing what it takes to make it work.

Way, way beyond me.

Managed to do a couple of stuff this week - catch up with besties, accompany boyfriend for lunches during his internship, research on my paper, interview with my selected character, and family gatherings. This entry's gonna be a long one by the way.

X-Men First Class

You know you're in for an exciting movie when:

1) The show starts off with running comic strips (because this spells fighting and power)

2) You see flash of lights and a bird's eye view of the earth before something dramatic happens

3) The first scene stems from as long as 1900s when war and poverty was prevalent.

4) The characters have the uncanny ability to fly, disappear, or manipulate objects, so much that they could save themselves from any catastrophe.

Gone are the days when we used to catch the series of Marvel comic cartoons during our childhood but what happens before that are beyond our knowledge. Here's a treat, X-Men First Class, helmed by director Matthew Vaughn is here, this time to bring us back to the history.

Before the mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Eric Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) took the names of Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time only to find out that they have different dreams for their special powers.

And that's what brought both forces constantly on an alert against each other. And that's also why we could go "ohhhhh that's why" when Vaughn's production tells us the story - which may not be exhilarating if you are unaware of the characters.

So when history repeats itself in the movie, you find familiar faces such as John.F.Kennedy who makes his speech - which links history and fiction to provide a bit of realism for you to understand the movie better. Oh, and did I mention that the movie has also arranged for the much anticipated Hugh Jackman to appear just for you audiences? Don't expect alot of him though, Vaughn's probably ensuring that you guys do remember who's Wolverine.

Suitable for all you X-Men fans out there, this movie is sure to provide you with a personality profile of every character that you once adored. Be sure that you don't blink your eyes throughout because every scene reveals new pieces of jigsaw - that's how you piece them together :)

Last night I struggled to finish up my field trip report due for submission. Slept at 2am and received a text message at 11am that my lecturer decided to cut us some slack and that we only need to submit our draft online. Well, at least I don't need to go back to school just to drop it into some box. I decided to be a diligent student and did more research to beautify my essay, hoping to quote more references in order to make my statements more convincing.

So anyway, I was reading a friend's blog when I realized how amazing her life is. But it seems like she's never happy in her current situation and that her emotions are all bottling up. Could this be an example of what people normally say the grass is always greener on the other side? I mean, here I am wishing that I could be as smart as her, but there she is wishing that she could be someone else. You know, somehow I feel like commenting on her blog to encourage her to press on but then I realized that I'm in no position to say that because I myself am struggling to do better in life.

Things at home have been pretty stagnant lately. Dad's overseas, bro will be going overseas too. Mum's coming home late from work, and boyfriend is busy with his internship. But its all good, at least we're all busy with our stuff. Makes you feel wanted.

Okay, I think I've let out everything. Gonna carry on with my research paper after which I'll be meeting boyfriend for dinner at Changi Airport Teppanyaki. Its been quite some time since we both head there for meals. Reminds me of the time when we just started out and couldn't get enough of the airport. *giggles*

The weekend once again

Have been busy working on my research paper during the week. Glad that I managed to submit my literature review on time and that my personality profile interviewee is willing to do me a huge favour by granting an interview for me. But before I go on to school matters, here's some updates. Spent Friday night with the boyfriend and before that, was having lunch with him near his workplace. We ordered Mcdonalds since there's the lunch meal promotion going on and got ourselves 2 free pink coke "can" glasses.

Joanna wanted the pink glass so I'm just gonna trade one of my pink glasses with her green one.

And Oreo boy just turned 5 years old on Thursday. Happy Birthday Rascal!! :)

Anyway, back to school matters. I'll be doing a number of research for my research paper as well as feature writing assignments. Apparently the reason why I didn't score as well for one of my assignments previously was due to the lack of research. Yea, I guess it does make sense considering the fact that the articles I write are meant to "educate" the readers. Oh, and did I mention that I have 5 chapters worth of readings to finish up by next week?

I've spent my week meeting up with the bestfriends before Geraldine takes off for her grad trip. Definitely looking forward to her return with more catch ups! So anyway, met up with her last Thursday, supposedly with the intention of doing some shopping but ended up not getting much in the end. Its a good thing I guess, considering the amount I need to save for my grad trip next year. heeheehee!

HELLO!

Happy TGIF everyone. Just gonna drop a short update before I head to bed (been down with a terrible flu, need to stuff my nose with vicks and tissue). Will be going down to scape arts street tomorrow from 2pm - 9pm for our flea booth. Do drop by if you're free. We'll be selling various apparels and accessories that are just too cute to resist, we even kept a few pieces for ourselves. I hope the weekend's good for y'all cause mine was superb! Spent a night at MBS hotel with boyfriend and family. We had great food, and enjoyed every moment we spent at the hotel. I love them all... yes even the toilet sink!

Hello!

So school has started, I'm trying my best to adjust back to school life because 3 weeks are insufficient for me considering the amount of time I've spent on work. The first week of school had been pretty alright, although I don't really enjoy Tuesdays because of long school hours I had to endure. But I'm glad I only need to attend lessons 2-3 days a week because of my credit exemptions. Woohoo!

Recently, I've been trying to settle some stuff pertaining to the holidays after this semester. I shan't reveal too much for now because I've not finalized everything yet. Will update more when i'm done alright. I'm quite excited about it, can't wait to blog about it when the time comes :)

On a totally unrelated note, I've always been a fan of sweaters and pullovers. I know that its really impractical to wear a sweater in a tropical country like Singapore but if you give me a choice, I would love to soak myself in the comfort of a huge pullover than to force my bulging tummy into the size of a fitting blouse. Who doesn't right? And today, I came across in a website on what seemed to be a really comfortable piece of YSL pullover that is easy to match, and comfortable to be worn around. What do you think? :)

I love it to bits! Will definitely get one if I ever see it in stores (that is, if the price permits me to do so) :)

The end of another chapter

Hey everyone, I hope the week is good so far. Had been rather busy day with work, a colleague of mine left the company about a week ago and so we had to do some handovers cos well... we are just interns, there's gotta be someone who needs to take over. We had a couple of events to settle and so far things are sort of under control. I've been receiving lots of emails with regards to the runway search and had spent the entire day replying to their queries. Its a pity I won't be able to turn up for the fashion show finals but good luck to all finalists! So anyway, its about time I close a chapter on my internship. Today's entry will basically fill you in on what I've been busy with. Let's start with the roadshows :)

My colleague, Serene gave me movie tickets from Shaw Theatres. Can't wait to redeem it!

I must admit that I left the office with a heavy heart. I'll definitely miss the girls and I have to say I really enjoyed talking to them. I've learnt stuff along the way, just wished that I had more time to really find out more about the company. But its not exactly a goodbye I guess, who knows, I may be back full time after I graduate :)

Okay, gotta go pack my stuff and figure out how to blend my new goodies in my room. Tomorrow's polling day, gotta wake up early. I think I've made my choice, what about you? :)

Its Tuesday and I'm still having that Monday blues where you dread forcing your way to work. Yes, I'm getting bored from all the work that I've been doing recently. I'm thankful that I'm not required to work overtime with the exception of weekends where I'm required to be present for some outdoor events. Speaking of events, there's one coming up this Saturday at Fairmont Singapore. Thank god I won't be having any piano lessons on that day. I don't even have time to practice!

Anyway, Mother's Day is round the corner. Have been thinking of what prezzie to get for momsie. Bro and I are getting a cake from Awfully Chocolate and I can't wait to indulge! Shall reveal more when the day draws closer :)

ALOHA!

Today I took time off to complete my PR report due for submission tomorrow. So I spent some time in the NLB to do my research and type out my key points before finalizing up for the entire report. Phew! I sure took pretty long to complete them. And since I'm more or less done with my report, I shall declare that my holidays are official! Well... not exactly cos I still got my internship to settle.

So anyway, yesterday I went out with the boyfriend for dinner with his friends. I did a little styling with my hair and I really like the locks!

Too bad its just temporary. Its pretty simple actually, just gotta use the hairdryer and curl it in with a round hair brush. But its gonna take forever if you're doing it alone =x

Alright, gotta finish up my work! Have a great week ahead :)

So today marks my first week of internship. I'm glad that I get to build up on my working experience but somehow I don't think I'm learning much on the techniques :( I guess I'll have to give myself more time to adjust.

I can't believe the weekend is over. Felt like its still a Friday and I'm enjoying it like no other. Anyway, this entry is gonna be a short one. Today I managed to get one of my favourite beverages - KOI bubble tea! I never enjoyed queueing up for it but sometimes I think its worth the time and effort cos it just taste awesome. Boyfriend and I love the bubble milk tea with grass jelly. Okay, i think the main attention was on the grass jelly cos its not the usual grass jelly you get from the canned drinks. This one tastes heavenly and makes you yearn for more! HEEHEE!

Food aside, I've been working on my PR report over the weekend (as mentioned in the previous entry). Thank god I've finished my blogging quite some time ago. I guess I didn't procastinate that much during this sem huh. I gotta go to bed soon cos I've to wake up early tomorrow for work. Keeping my fingers cross, wish me luck people! :)

Hello all!

I just got back from a nice dinner with boyfriend's family at Majestic Restaurant. No pictures were taken because I didn't bring a camera with me and let's just say I was too occupied with the food to even remember taking pictures. The food was good, we couldn't recall what we ate previously when my family came down so we ordered something different. The dessert was superb, can't stop attacking the avocado puree. Nonetheless, I had a great time tonight and I'm glad I get to spend some time with them before I start on my internship next week. Speaking of internship, many of you would ask if I'm looking forward to it. The answer is, yes and no. I don't really know what to expect when I start work but what I do know is I tend to get a little nervous before I start on a new job. But then again, I'm looking forward to learn something new each day.

Anyway, I'm more or less done with this sem, except that I need to work on one last report that needs to be submitted in a week's time. I'll probably spend my weekend working on it since I foresee that I won't have sufficient time when my internship starts. Argh, sometimes I felt that 24 hours a day ain't sufficient.

Alright, I think I gonna take a rest before I start working on my report. Hey its FRIDAY people, have a great weekend!

This morning, I made a trip down to the hospital to meet my dad for his annual check up. I was glad I found my way there without the help of the cab. Free shuttle buses are definitely the way to go!! So anyway, these are the chronicles of my journey.

I foresee that I'll get all dehydrated from the journey by the time I reached the hospital so I grabbed a bottle of water before that. I kinda regretted not bringing my own water because this bottle costs me $2.
Saw a white lamborghini - I wonder how the passengers managed to squeeze themselves inside because from what I see, it definitely looks jam-packed!

Waited pretty long for the shuttle bus. I kept seeing the Thomson Medical buses but not the ones heading towards Mt Alvernia :(
Then again, patience isn't called a virtue for nothing. Not many people board the bus though.
When I brought dad to the doctor's office, I was greeted by an entire row of Make-a-bear. Some of the bears' clothes were customized with the doctor's name printed on it. How sweet :)
And we decided to have lunch at the hospital cafe while waiting for the results. I randomly ordered some teochew duck rice. Doesn't look good, doesn't taste good either.
Dad gave me a lift to the boyfriend's place. He wanted to drop me at Lavendar station but he missed the exit and decided to drive all the way to the East instead. HAHA OOPS!

My first attempt to wear a black dress with a pair of shorts. I think I looked flabby though =x
And I think I need to do something about my hair. I don't know what to do with it, just something for a change. Perhaps some colouring would help?

Anyway, just received good news from somewhere. Boyfriend and I are gonna travel once more! I'm really excited about it. I'll reveal more information in another post next time ;)

Parents' Wedding Anniversary

This is probably one of the more elaborate posts I'm gonna blog about cause I generally don't blog alot. I know I know, I'm always on a hiatus, but I'll try to update as often as I should alright :) Anyway, here's an update on my weekend so far.

My third aunt from my mum's family invited us for her housewarming lunch but bro and dad couldn't make it due to work and so poor mummy and I gotta take the bus and ventilate ourselves with the pamphlets in the hot sun. No pictures taken because my stomach wasn't feeling well. But I was glad to catch up with my cousins who played good hosts at the party. Guess the next time I'll be seeing them is during Cousin Roy's ROM :)

We then headed for a buffet dinner at Holiday Inn Orchard City in lieu of my parents' wedding anniversary. I didn't take many pictures of the food because they were not fantastic but if you really want to know what's good over there, I can only say the sashimi and laksa are decent. But definitely not one of the best dishes in town. Mum loves the durian though, apparently she has invented her own way of consuming the durian with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. She just couldn't get enough of them!

Did I ever mention that I love Fridays? Who doesn't huh. The past few days had been rather hectic for me. Managed to finish up on my video production, essay, blogging, and not to mention the preparations for the redundant current affairs quiz (don't even get me started on the quiz). So anyway, I'll have another 2-3 more weeks before the school term comes to an end. That will also mark the start of my much anticipated internship. I really hope I get to learn lots of stuff over there cos I don't know when will I ever get a job considering the situation that I'm in.

That aside, I realized that I need to catch up on my sleep. My eyelids seemed slightly heavy today but its not that bad. A few more hours of sleep tonight shall do the trick! By the way, have you guys been to Paradise Inn? Boyfriend and I think its good, especially the soup. However, I must say the price isn't cheap. But if that price gives you good food in return, its worth the money to pamper yourself once in a while!

Recently I bought some clothes online. I enjoy the feeling of giving myself a little treat after several days of hard work. heh heh! Alright, I have work to finish up and tomorrow's gonna be a long day for me. Will update soon! :)

Recently I felt really discouraged by what is going on around me. Well, let's just say that school is not exactly the ideal place for me to excel in but I guess I have to deal with it eventually. My mind has been wandering around and I tried to come up with ways to prevent myself from losing confidence. Over time I realized that the only way to seek solace is to constantly tell yourself that things will be fine. No, you are not running away from the problem, you are confronting it with utmost confidence. It is like trying to go through this bottleneck situation with minimal frictions involved. Right now I could visualize myself trying to walk through that misty tunnel in hope of seeing a shimmer of hope. Cliche it may sound but I think this is what I'm going through right now. I'm glad you're right beside me baby.

I'm really glad that it is FRIDAY... like finally! I spent the afternoon at SPCA for interviews and photo taking for my upcoming assignment (that I absolutely "adore"). Somehow I felt that the pictures that I've taken are not good enough for a good grade. In fact, I think I'm kind of sick and tired of doing such stuff where the only way to do well is to have good connections. My assignments are piling up and I really need to do well this sem. I'm crossing my fingers though, wish me luck!

Macbook Pro REVAMPED

So after months of deliberation, I finally decided to get a laptop skin for my macbook because of several reasons - the scratches on the sides are a tad unpleasant to the eyes and metal scraps give me goosebumps. I had it "renovated" at g-mask at a discounted price. You see, inSing.com apparently organizes daily promotions where you could purchase the vouchers of the selected merchants at lower prices. In this case, I saved 50% of the total costs which definitely makes a big difference in my wallet.

I selected the Paul Smith inspired design to give my macbook a colourful overall :)

Love the colour combination! Just like what Loretta said, the colours only look good when placed together. HAHA!

Hello world! Some updates on my debate today. It was kinda scary actually because I've never exactly participated in a debate before and its even scarier when you find out that you'll be graded accordingly. In today's debate, I don't recall myself regurgitating every word that I've memorized for the simple reason that I'm just plain nervous. I speak whatever that comes in my mind and I just couldn't help but think if I'm running out of time for myself to defend my stance. Anyway, my prof said that we did alright. In fact, we made several mistakes during the debate but she decided to pardon us because she we weren't informed about the rules. It is good to be the first one to start the ball rolling after all huh.

Today after my lessons, I wanted to pamper myself with ice-cream. But I was too tired to even make a trip down to the ice-cream parlour. But, I got myself manicures from mom's package though. I need to take a good nap, especially after tackling two presentations within 5 days. I have a few more assignments to go - some major ones in fact, but yea, I just want to do well and get it done soon.

Hello! Have not updated since the start of 2011 and its already the end of January. Time really flies and soon you'll be counting down to 2012. Anyway, school has been alright but I don't really enjoy going for lessons. Assignments are piling up but I'm still in my holiday mood =x

So last Saturday Joey girl was admitted to the vet. I was told to prepare for the worse because things aren't looking good for her. I have been running in and out of the clinic for the past 3 days or so (including today). There wasn't much of an improvement but I have never considered euthanasia as an option until today when I saw how painful she was. The thing is, there is no way can I decide for her whether she'll live or not because for all you know, Joey does have the will to fight, we just have to give her time to adjust. On the other hand, Joey may be suffering so badly that its cruel to prolong her pain. I thought that I am ready to let her go if she has to, but I can't. If only she could talk to me. I thought that euthanasia might be the best option but seriously, how could I possibly bear to let her go in a few seconds when we've spent 10 years of our lives together?

Ever since I started my first trimester in school, I've felt the pressure to do well in my academics. I wasn't exactly feeling this way when I was in Monash but I can't say the same now that I'm in a completely different environment. Things are much different I must say, but everything is just too soon to tell. My lecturers are pretty alright I guess aside from a few whom I don't really wish to name out. Anyway, its my 4th week in school and being a person who never liked school (who does?), I'm looking forward to my mid-term hols just so that I could take my mind off school for just a week. I don't really know what the future holds for me but what I do know is that I'll need to do well in school so that I could move on in life. Baby let's work hard shall we?

I was reading through my readings for the week when I came across the section where the writer talked about the differences between post modernism and the late capitalism. It was highlighted that the differences between the 2 era could be done through the analysis of canonical works of high modernism in visual art and contemporary visual art. Instead of focusing on the topic discussed, I strayed off and did a little research on the works of Van Gogh's well known paintings of which the Bedroom in Aries (1889) and the Peasant Shoes' (1885) were some of my favourite pieces. I particularly liked the peasant shoes' painting for the materialization of pure colour in oil paint that has transformed the overall painting with a satisfying effect. What are your favourite art pieces?

Having lost his parents at an early age, 3-year-old Roscoe (orang utan) became sad and depressed and as a result refused to respond to any food or medical treatment. The zoo keepers found a sick dog and brought the animal to the vet treatment centre on the same day when the orang utan was brought in. The 2 lost souls met and was inseparable since then. The orang utan has found a new reason to live as he tries to be a good companion/friend to his new found friend.

They lived in Northern California where swimming is their best past time. The orang utan is a little afraid of water and often relies on his friend for help.

I took a quick glance over the entire school building with the stadium facing me, nothing has changed. Everything is still in tact. I began to think back about my days in that school when I dread attending boring lectures that are accompanied by endless tutorials. In fact, I don't recall enjoying much during my 2 years of pre-tertiary education in that school. The sole reason why I attended school was purely because I had to and there weren't any incentives for me to enjoy my time in the college as much as I do in my secondary school. But anyway, it has been 3 years since i left college and if there's a reason why I would want to go back to college again, it would be to work harder so that my A level grades would have been so much better. Maybe it won't even change much considering how much effort I've already put in back then (so i guess i have to change my method of studying). But its already done, school's starting in a week's time. Its time that I channel my efforts that I've put in during my previous education into my coming school term...

And this is probably a rough idea on how work's going to be next time upon graduation. Haha... no wonder the adults are always saying that schooling is still the best time of their lives. Tomorrow's the start of a new working week and I'm not looking forward to it at all. It will be the same routine of waking up as early as 6:30am in the morning for me to snooze for another 15 minutes before I take a cold shower to force myself to be all awake and energetic for work. A 10 minutes breakfast is all I have before I rush out to embark my journey to office.

Oh, and blogger has a new set of template designs for us to choose. So what do you think of my blog's outlook now? :)

Eventful and happy Tuesday

This morning I made several trips to the toilet and threw up my breakfast (dumpling). As if the feeling of nausea and vomitting is not terrible enough, today had to be the first day for my time of the month. My face turned pale each time I threw up and my cramps were exacerbating the pain. I tried to focus at work but my ghastly facial expression has caught the attention of my colleagues and so I was advised to go home. In the midst of fighting hard to prevent myself from fainting, I managed to convince myself to go home even though today is just the second day of work.

The minute I tapped my card and got out of the office, I began to see double images. To make things worse, the rain was too strong for me to even walk outdoors even though I had an umbrella with me. I tried to call for a cab but the reception was poor and I couldn't get through the line. I then tried calling baby to inform him that I wasn't feeling well but the reception was just making it so difficult for me to contact anyone at that time.

Fortunately a cab came by with a passenger inside who apparently dropped off at my office. I rushed down to snatch the cab even though I knew that there were people who were eyeing at it. I didn't care if I reached later than they do, I was standing on a thin line between fainting and being conscious and so I needed a cab badly. I took a short nap during the journey back. Thank god baby called me to check because he received my missed call.

I got off at baby's house lobby and informed him that I've arrived. I couldn't wait to see him and when I saw him waiting for me at his door, I felt relieved. Even if I fainted, I know that I am safe when he's with me. He helped me in and gave me medicated oil to ease my cramp. I then took a nap while he carry on catching up with the NBA finals. Wanted to watch with him but I couldn't lift myself up. I was then awoken by a peck on the cheek and nose. Opened my eyes and saw baby in front of me. And so you couldn't feel any happier when you see your beloved ones staying by your side.

Waking up in the morning rain

I know I haven't blogged for quite some time. Its funny how I often rely heavily on inspirations for myself to blog an entry. Anyway, its raining now and despite having woke up slightly more than an hour ago, I still get the feeling that I literally just got up from bed with my hair all entangled and messy, and my puffy eyes hardly wide open. It has got to be the rain, and that's why who doesn't enjoy sleeping in a weather like this.

The school next to my house, is constantly serving as a source of morning call for me. If its not the girls screaming their lungs out at the staircase, it is the class screaming and cheering during PE lessons (Not to mention the fact that PE lessons are conducted in the hall during rainy days which makes the screaming even more distinct because of the echoes). Oh, and did I mention how loud the uniform groups were when they practice their marching at the back alley of the school?

I don't usually feel irritated (or at least, I've gotten used to it). In fact, all these kinda reminded me of my secondary school days with my class wreaking havoc all the time (something which I've over time got used to) and my school band together with other CCAs having outdoor practices. The residents of the housing flats next to my school must have felt the same way as what I'm experiencing.

But anyway, I hope you're having a good week so far...

Mum and myself are going to get a few bottles since we're already running out of nail polishes. In Singapore's retailing outlets, each OPI bottle can be sold for a hefty price of between S$15-S$22, depending on the rate quoted to them by their respective suppliers and the quantity ordered. However, purchasing these bottles online are much cheaper if you order in bulks and each bottle can be sold for as low as S$10. Its still a little steep though, as compared to other smaller brands but the quality has made the price worth the investment.

I was supposed to go for intermediate yoga today but mum couldn't make it and so I decided not to go as well. I probably can't go for lesson anyway because I haven't signed up with them and mum didn't pass me her receipt so I couldn't go in her place as well. I should probably start revising some of the yoga techniques lest I feel lost when I start going for the next lesson.

Went to boyfriend's house the whole day and at the same time watched the big match between Man Utd and Chelsea. The outcome wasn't desirable but the game is not yet over so let's just wait and see :) Shan't comment too much in case boyfriend thinks I'm being all bimbo again. haha!

Anyway I was browsing through facebook and everyone's giving their two cents worth about the match. Well, its not for me to control what they want to comment although it can be a little annoying to see praises about the blues. Then again, I believe the devils do receive their fair share (if not more) of praises before as well.

I'm currently attempting to do an eye mask to reduce my eye bags. They don't look obvious but I thought I should do something about it in case it gets worse. And before it gets worse, its best that I have an early night :)

Was browsing through the designs of various footwear. I think wedges are pretty elegant and not as unbearable as stiletto heels. But these footwear are probably too steep for me to get used to.

So recently my parents has been breathing down my neck about my uni application. It can be a little annoying at times when I always hear the same question coming out from my dad for as frequent as 3-4 times a week. In all due respect, it seems to me that dad is hoping that if i could not give him an answer on Monday, he thought I could give him an answer the very next day without realizing that the decision doesn't lies in me but in the school.

Last night, my spirits were uplifted when I was talking to dad. As usual, he asked the same old question and I had to give him the same old answer. I added that I've stated teaching as one of my option (not the first choice of course). Although I could sense a slight surge of relief coming out from his facial expression, I could tell that he wasn't feeling any better because "applying to school" and "being accepted in school" are two different issues. I started to change the subject by telling him about my tuition students and how Siming and I felt tickled by one of my students' composition. I then informed him about the plans that we have made. I was surprised that dad gave us advices on how to go about making sure that its worthy and valuable. I mean, a moment ago he was talking to me as if he's interrogating a crime suspect and I obviously didn't like that tone coming out from him. But oh well, anyways he's fine and so is mum :)

It has been some time since I last did an update on Victoria's Secret supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio.

She's seriously getting thinner. It seems like she's growing upwards instead of sidewards. And for a person who has given birth about a year ago, that's a remarkable figure she's got. Do all models have to shrink themselves to this size? On a side note, I think that pair of white jeans looks nice on her :)

Amazing! Love this picture effect with the christmas decorations and the fireplace. Although I highly doubt there is a need to have a fireplace in a humid country like Singapore. haha!

Was looking at my camera and remembered my parents telling me they were having difficulty using it. And that's when they started to attribute this technical problem to the camera being old. Okay what, I think its functioning well :)
